We’ve updated the Program page with Dr John Clarke’s workshops. Check them out below, and don’t forget to fill in your booking form for WriteFest on Saturday, 19 May.

Inside the Criminal Mind (morning workshop)

This session will examine the psychology underlying a variety of criminal behaviours including sex crimes, homicide, stalking, and property crime. This talk will be useful to writers who want to understand what these types of offenders do and why they do it so they can write a more realistic criminal character.

During the last half hour of this session Dr John will answer questions either asked by attendees in that session or written questions submitted during the morning.

What Makes Us Who We Are? (afternoon workshop)

This session will examine the psychology of love, sexual attraction, friendship, group dynamics and people’s behaviour in the social world. It will also cover lie detection and human emotion, as well as occupational psychology specific to the law enforcement environment. It will be of use to writers who want to understand how people interact with each other and why people do the things they do in society.

During the last half hour of this session Dr John will answer questions either asked by attendees in that session or written questions submitted during the day.
