WriteFest

WriteFest – a memento mori

This too shall pass.

In the Spring of 2017, (Saturday 7 & Sunday 8 of October, to be precise) Writefest for the last time enticed aspiring and advanced writers to embark on a journey of learning and inspiration. They patted their cats* goodbye, changed out of winter-worn trackie- dax, and headed to the Wide Bay.

WriteFest is the one day of the year when writers know they will be in the company of people who understand them, where they will be able to share their creative passions and where they can study the mysteries of their craft, from polishing a plot, making characters believable, or using weapons correctly.

At WriteFest, all writers are equal. Workshops may be genre-specific or craft-orientated, and are presented by writing industry professionals. Romance, crime, science fiction, fantasy, paranormal, memoirs, children’s books – if an area isn’t covered one year it will be the next.

WriteFest is committed to offering writers of all backgrounds an event they cannot afford to miss.

Which is time to mention that none of this would be possible without very welcome supporters and sponsors – you’ll see them listed on the left of the page.

We hope to see you at our next WriteFest, and remember, as Christopher Morely said, ‘There is only one success – to be able to spend your life in your own way.’

*We by no means wish to insinuate that all writers have cats. We know of one who has a dog.
